The Hives

The Hives came to the Benicassim music festival in Spain to rock the house, and they certainly accomplished their goal. Opening the main stage, they were loud and point-on, giving the crowd a show they would not forget. They came onstage in their signature black and white outfits and immediately took over the audience with their empowering sound. Their set included tracks from their new album “Tyrannosaurus Hives,” as well as some of their greatest hits. One of the highlights was their hit single “Hate to say I told you so” which the entire crowd sung along to. The crowd created a frenzied mosh pit, clearly enjoying themselves.

Front man Pelle Almqvist declared that they were “the rulers of the Benicassim Festival” in decent Spanish, and with their raucous set he was not far off! Pelle also dedicated a song “A.K.A Idiot” to himself as the crowd loudly sang the chorus back to him.  He got to the photo-pit, climbed up onto the barrier, and then jumped into the crowd as they carried him aloft around the stage.

The Hives set included the songs Bigger Hole To Fill, Guerre, Nucleaire, A Little More For Little You, Walk Idiot Walk, No Pun Intended, Tic Tic Boom, Die All Right, Well Alright, Hate To Say I Told You So, Here We Go Again, A.K.A Idiot, Main Offender, Two Timing Touch, Abra Cadaver, and Let It Go.  This perfect mix of songs riled up the crowd, as the Swedish rockers played a great show at the Benicassim music festival.
