Magic Numbers
The Magic Numbers is composed of brothers and sisters. The Gannons, Sean and Angela, and the Stodarts – Romeo and Michele – came together and formed a pop band that sings with a little more soul and flavor than other bands at the festival.
Early reviews out of the Benicassim Festival indicate that the Magic Numbers wowed their onlookers with a brand of pop music that hasn’t been seen in years. “Forever Lost” was their lead song, and it was electrifying in both melody and lyrics. The song was an emotional tribute to a lost cause of love.
The British style of pop is clearly integrated in their music. They are both imaginative and revolutionary. Interestingly, they drew comparisons to some of the greatest bands of the past. For years, the soulful sounds of The Mamas and the Papas were as popular as any band out there. The Magic Numbers evoked memories of that band and other lyrical influences seem to be The Lovin’ Spoonful and the Zombies.
The family-based band looks poised to tackle the big time after their huge performance at the festival. Not only did they stamp a memorable impression in the minds of those at Benicassim, but they also introduced a new sound that is sure to influence future generations of singers. With a unique blend of soft and deep melody, The Magic Numbers bring their tight family bond to the stage. They are not afraid to step out and be a little bit different, but their musical ability clearly puts them in line with many of the best bands that performed at the festival.
