Chalou Saint Jude @ Dublin Castle, London, 27th June 2007
A lot can be said about the old boozer on Parkway in Camden, but it is still one of the best places in town to discover new talents.
The stage of the Dublin Castle saw 4 bands that night, but only one grabbed our attention, Chalout Saint Jude.
Formed in the summer of 2006, Chalou Saint Jude have been playing all over London now for almost a year and recorded a 3 song demo that you can buy at their gigs. We were practically blown away by the energy they present on stage. They play with the passion and enthusiam only a brand new band can have, so much in fact, that only after 3 songs their frontman is soaking wet and already looks in need for break. But there are no breaks in their set for him. One electricity laden song follows the other, showing off a sound that can be best described as The King's of Leon meet delta blues and 60s rock.
We say this band is the hottest tip of the summer and you can find out yourself if you go to their gig at the Carling Academy Islington on July 24.
