Furia

Manefestivalen 2006 – Frerickstad, Norway

Furia grew up in a very small place on the West of Norway called Os. The met in high school and have played together for 11 years now.

‘We were 15/16 when we started. All our male friends were in bands but they didn’t want us because we were girls so we started our own band. It was a very small place so we needed things to do. There were only about 16,000 in our town.’

The girls describe their music as indie-emo rock/pop.

‘It’s very emotional its all about feelings. We write our own’

The vocalist writes the lyrics all the lyrics stating that their last record is mostly based on heartache;

Now I’m married and very happy but at the time I was feeling a lot of heartache. I think everyone can relate to the lyrics – and find their own meanings. It’s most important to sing about something you have experienced – so you mean what you sing.’

The girls released one EP with four songs in 2002 and a full record in 2003. They are both on sale in Norway and Germany;

‘We signed a big record deal in Germany – so we re released it in Germany.’

They’ve also been on tour with Lenny Kravtiz and played in Germany, UK, Finland and Berlin, as well as Norway of course.

Their new album is due for release in September in Norway and October in the rest of Europe. So watch out for these four fiery girls!
