XX Teens release a new single, How To Reduce The Chances Of Being A Terror Victim through Mute on 25th February 2008.
This follows the release Darlin’ which made it into the NME’s singles of the year chart in December ’07.
Released
on 7' and download only, the single parodies the sort of governmentally
sanctioned scare-mongering advice on terror prevention that would have
you living the life of an anti-social hermit if it were to be believed.
Accompanied by a video that harks back to the days when a
sturdy kitchen table and white sheet were regarded as sufficient
protection against nuclear attack, How To Reduce The Chances Of Being A
Terror Victim is an indictment against the current 'climate of fear’.
The band have also announced a number of live dates to coincide with the single release.
The full list of dates are as follows:
FEBRUARY 10th Glasgow Garage (NME Awards date with Black Francis) 12th Manchester Academy 2 (NME Awards date with Black Francis) 13th London Koko (NME Awards date with Black Francis) 22nd Birmingham The Rainbow 23rd Manchester Up The Racket 25th London DURR 29th Brighton Audio

The
band have also recently finished their, as yet un-titled, debut album
with Ross Orton (Fat Truckers, MIA, Bromheads Jacket, Kid Acne) in
Sheffield. The album will be released through Mute in May 2008.
