lounge, dance floor and stage. Celebrities are not uncommon here, including the
likes of Christian Slater and Orlando Bloom, so you are in good company in this
quality club that could be described as a cross between a nightclub and a jazz
bar. Guests visiting the Pigalle Club are sure to remember the experience.
There is a 1940s theme to The Pigalle Club, designed by Shaun Clarkson who also designed TenWest and others. There is vintage wallpaper, wood paneling and diamond mirrored walls around the club, complemented by the retro fan-shaped booths. Soft lighting just adds to the sophisticated 1940s mood. Even the staff is in full costume at the Pigalle Club, from their 1940s uniform clothes to their coiffure-styled hair. If you are extremely lucky, you may get the opportunity to experience major musical names from days gone by, for example Van Morrison and Shirley Bassey, but even on a normal night you will get to hear talented and rising young artists and great DJs. You may hear jazz, soul or swing, or even live cabaret performances. There are seven live shows every week and this includes The Pigalle Club’s own house band. At The Pigalle Club you would be in the minority if you did not get up and dance at some point of the evening, especially once the DJs get going. You will have a good time whatever the entertainment, but be aware that the cabaret shows can get a little risqué! The food is good too, although it is not cheap. The Pigalle Club restaurant offers a large range of traditional fare; steak, chips and salad as one example, and entrees are quick in arriving but rather expensive. You may have a little bit of a wait for the main course, but it does taste good. The wine list is pricey as well, but they do offer some very good bottles. The Pigalle Club is certainly an interesting experience but you are guaranteed good music and a great atmosphere. It is open from 19.00 to 04.00, Monday to Saturday, and the nearest transport is the Piccadilly Circus tube. There is wheelchair access but no disabled toilets. |
