First Hotel Skt. Petri took the top prize Thursday evening at the Danish Travel Award 2006 event where it was elected Best Danish Hotel 2006 by Danish travel industry members. Danish Travel Award The Danish Travel Award event has been held for 11 years running and the awards are considered the Danish hotel and travel industry's most prestigious accolades. Awards are given on the basis of a ballot among Danish travel industry employees, including travel agency staff, and domestic travellers. The rating agency DMA/Research handled the polling. First Hotel Skt. PetriFirst Hotel Skt. Petri opened its doors in 2003 and is housed in a refurbished and converted early modernist building, designed by Wilhelm Lauritsen, which used to be a department store. The hotel is Denmark's most designed hotel, featuring a unique customised design program. The hotel breaks with the outdated concept of the anonymous hotel that shies away from adding an extra dimension to the hotel experience. "We are very focused on how our staff communicates with our guests; it needs to be qualified, informal and preferably have a little humour too. We also give a great deal of attention to offering our guests a little extra service and providing them with a little extra experience during their stay. So it's an added pleasure that our efforts have been noticed and that we've now been awarded the Danish Travel Award as Best Danish Hotel 2006. That's well and truly a tribute to our outstanding staff," says General Manager of First Hotel Skt. Petri, Michael Telling. "We believe that our strong brand is one of the things that have helped to secure this award - and that we dare do things differently and are not afraid of taking chances. As an example, we are soon to publish THE BOOK, which features as our own personal city guide to experiences in Copenhagen. And our webshop is also a unique initiative where we retail the products featured at the hotel - our own favourite things," says General Manager Michael Telling. First Hotel Skt. Petri is a five-star hotel and the only Danish member of Design Hotels. |
