GusGus

GusGus's music is assorted, and though categorized as techno, the band has experimented with a vast array of musical compositions. GusGus is a band that originated in Iceland and numerous band members have come and gone. The current members of GusGus include Stephan Stephensen also known as President Bongo, Birgir Þórarinsson also known as Biggi Veira, and Urður Hákonardóttir who is commonly referred to as Earth.  It’s interesting to note that the band never started out with musical intentions: they were actually a group that focused on acting and film; yet it is the music that the techno band has created that they have became most famous for.

Despite the band’s volatile and ever-evolving history, they have produced lasting musical pieces adored by fans across the globe.  The original band consisted of a total of nine members and now the band is down to three – this, however, has only served to improve their development and performances and it is a tribute.  Fans loved GusGus’s performance at the International Benicassim Festival, citing it as one of the best they have ever seen by the band in years.

GusGus and other bands, nearly one hundred of them in all, played in front of a primarily British audience: it has been estimated that almost eight percent of all tickets sold to the annual four day long Benicassim Festival were purchased by British festival goers.  Fans make plans months in advance to get in on the best musical entertainment in the world.  GusGus’s performance at the Benicassim Festival is a sure indication that their latest album, Forever, is and will remain a music entertainment favorite.
